Entropycats is the recording project of Detroit-based composer and producer Paul Hanger, blending acid electronics, ambient space, and psychedelic guitar.
Across a catalogue of more than 150 recordings, the project functions less as a conventional discography and more as an evolving archive of sound environments. Earlier releases such as Axis and Dangit Diane leaned heavily into guitar-driven psychedelia, while later work including Nowhere/Everywhere and Frontier Sessions expanded toward spatial, rhythm-forward electronic compositions.
The new record Unknown continues that trajectory. Acid textures dissolve into blues phrasing, rhythm sections shift between club propulsion and cinematic drift, and guitar appears like brief flashes of heat inside electronic frameworks.
Each track behaves more like a scene than a song.
